This is my starting my 4th year as Executive Director of Kaufman County and we have had so many new things added that I would like to share with you.
1) A Born Learning Trail – at Ben Gill on backside of running trail. It is a 9 learning stations for children to do with caregivers, grandparents and parents alike.
2) Lending Libraries – “Take a book, leave a book”. There will be libraries all over the county before the project is through. At present, the City of Terrell has bought one for every park in Terrell and we hope to have them up before July.
3) We have 11 Partner Agencies (some new) this year and with the help of our Businesses we will continue to grant more money to help these non-profits help families in our county!
4) We are serving with the Hulsey Public Library through the VITA program (Volunteer income tax assistance) for simple tax returns.
With that said, I am still trying to find my 100 friends who will at least donate $5 each month to meet my goal of $6,000.
